My name is Ryan Hermes and I am the new Head Coach of the Cross Creek Krakens! I could not be more excited to begin working with this team and leading us to victory! I am 24 years old and am currently attending the University of Houston, as a psychology major. I began my swimming career when I was 8 years old with the Williamsburg Settlement Dolphins, where I began to volunteer coach at 13 and eventually would be hired as a paid assistant coach when I turned 16. I have been coaching either privately or with a team ever since. I love swimming and hope to share that love with the whole team. In my free time I love to go camping, hiking, and anything outdoors. I also love animals and am particularly fond of reptiles and dogs. I look forward to working with each and everyone of you and am excited to get the season started. Let’s go Krakens!
HEY THERE, my name is Stephanie Chronister and I am the assistant head coach for the CROSS CREEK KRAKENS!! Just a little background information about me... I am actually from the Katy area! I graduated from Taylor High School back in 2010. While there, I swam with Coach Apple as well as participated in school’s spirit program as the mascot, Mustang Sally. My experiences there propelled me to Sam Houston State University, where continued my mascot career, participated in the Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity, and eventually graduated in May 2015. After college, I immediately started my teaching career at Obra D. Tompkins High School where I have taught biology, and was able to start their Forensic Science program and help Katy Independent School District write their curriculum for the course as well. Swimming has always been a big part of my life. I grew up swimming for Barker’s Landing Swim Team, and eventually went from a swimmer, to “teen helper”, and eventually became the assistant coach by the age of 15. Before focusing my efforts on my college studies, I also coached swim lessons for both children and adults… so if your family is looking for lessons, please do not hesitate to send me an email or ask me after practice! I hope that everyone is ready for a pretty EPIC swim season, because I know that I am!
