HEY THERE, my name is Stephanie Chronister and I am the head coach for the CROSS CREEK KRAKENS!! Just a little background information about me... I am actually from the Katy area! I graduated from Taylor High School back in 2010. While there, I swam with Coach Apple as well as participated in school’s spirit program as the mascot, Mustang Sally. My experiences there propelled me to Sam Houston State University, where continued my mascot career, participated in the Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity, and eventually graduated in May 2015. After college, I immediately started my teaching career at Obra D. Tompkins High School where I have taught biology, and was able to start their Forensic Science program and help Katy Independent School District write their curriculum for the course as well. Swimming has always been a big part of my life. I grew up swimming for Barker’s Landing Swim Team, and eventually went from a swimmer, to “teen helper”, and eventually became the assistant coach by the age of 15. Before focusing my efforts on my college studies, I also coached swim lessons for both children and adults… so if your family is looking for lessons, please do not hesitate to send me an email or ask me after practice! I hope that everyone is ready for a pretty EPIC swim season, because I know that I am!

I recently just finished my fourth year on the varsity Tompkins swim team where I made friends for life and became stronger individually. I have been a junior coach for the krakens for two years and loved every second of it. I look forward to getting to work with your kids for another year no matter what it looks like!

Back in high school I swam for the Tompkins Varsity Swim Team all four years as well as swam for club teams for seven years. I look forward to seeing all the new and returning swimmers and parents. I’ve been swimming for almost a decade and swam with krakens for several seasons. Swimming has always played an important role in my life and has let me make many friends and memories. I have been swimming for Krakens since I was nine, which is what got me into the sport. After the first season with the Krakens, I joined a club team and have been swimming ever since. I am so excited for this season, and to help every swimmer find their love for swimming.
