Bailey McBride Assistant Coach

Hi Krakens!

My name is Coach Bailey. I am currently a Freshman at Texas State University for Theatre Education and I’ll be one of your Assistant Coaches this summer! Swimming has always been very special to me. I’ve been swimming since I was 4 years old and have been with the Krakens for 11 years! During those years, I also swam for many club swim teams, my high school team, and even played Waterpolo for a bit! This will be my 3rd year coaching for the Krakens (after a brief break last season) and I am so excited to be back.

A fun fact about me is that I am a huge Harry Potter fan! If you ever want to talk to me about how cool magic is, I will be all ears, but nothing will be more magical than this swim season. Can’t wait to meet everyone, release the Kraken!

Joe Guidry Junior Coach

Hey Krakens!

My name is Joe Guidry and I am a sophomore at Saint John XXIII college preparatory. I am so excited to be a junior coach this year! I have been swimming with the Krakens for eight years now but this will be my first year as a junior coach. My favorite stroke has always been breaststroke. When I’m out of the pool, I really enjoy music like playing the piano, guitar, or just singing along to my favorite songs. At school, I am on the basketball team, in the handbell choir, and I am on the comedy sports team. I’m ready to do everything I can to not only train our swimmers to be the best Krakens they can be, but also to make sure they have the time of their lives doing it!

Go Krakens!

Leo Rojas Lifeguard and Volunteer Coach

Hello Krakens!

My name is Leonardo Rojas Rodriguez, but you can call me Leo.

I’ve spent 12 years of my life in the water 7 years in summer league, 12 years club swimming, 4 years on my high school varsity swim team, and 1 year as Varsity Captain. It’s safe to say swimming has been a huge part of who I am.

I’m currently studying at Houston Christian University, working toward a degree in Business Marketing. Outside of the pool, I enjoy sketching, acrylic and oil painting, playing the violin, and hitting the gym (my new version of swim), and I am a movie fanatic . Also… Black Rock over Starbucks any day of the week.

For 10 months out of the year I miss the Krakens, and the other 2 months I’m back home with you all. I always look forward to helping everyone improve their technique and grow their love for swimming.

GO KRAKENS!!!
